4528 Butterfly and Flower Blanket

Not only a very lovely blanket to look at, but a most sensible and knitterly one to make, too. First, it's all done in one piece, and as a result, there's no sewing (phew). Second, it's ingenious in that some of the panels (butterfly, flower, geometric) are worked with the purl side as a background, and others not. Consequently there is no 'right' or 'wrong' side, just inevitable prettiness no matter what side is uppermost. It's a great size as a baby-wrapping blankie when they're really little, or a pram-size or stroller-size blanket, or as the kind of foofoo that the child drags around on its own and refuses to part from. In all, pretty much ideal.
