BPA 1 Staggered Shawl

Staggering, indeed. Here is a shawl that is simple but full of intrigue. It has something of a butterfly wing's quality, an iridescence-- not only because of the gradient colour qualities of the yarn, but because of the asymmetrical shifts from green to orchid. Separating them with black makes you think of a Monarch from an alternate universe. It's magnetic, arresting, but gentle and light at the same time. Worked in garter stitch at a looser gauge than usual for this DK weight yarn, for extra drape and sweep.

This design is from the Spring 2015 Universal Yarn eBook Bamboo Pop Adult: 10 Garments & Accessories to Knit and Crochet. A kids' book, Bamboo Pop Kids for ages 1 - 12, is available by clicking on the title.
