Chaucer Hat (child - adult)
This cabled hat comes in three sizes: toddler, women's, and men's. One cable pattern is repeated three times and an additional cable pattern is worked once. It is knit in the round on circular needles in a worsted weight yarn. Pattern includes both written directions as well as a chart for the cable section.
About the name: Geoffrey Chaucer is THE medieval writer, the "Shakespeare" of his time (although he wrote before Shakespeare). His Canterbury Tales is one of the most important works in Middle English and contains all kinds of stories, from the ribald to the religious.
(We are absolutely delighted that Robinson is so devoted to medieval literature in general and the Canterbury Tales in particular. We would especially like to recommend the 10th story of the 3rd day to those with a saucy sense of humour-- Ed.) Added by Karen--> It looks like you're thinking of the Decameron, another great medieval work (Giovanni Boccaccio is the Italian author) which is also a collection of tales and may have influenced Chaucer in his Canterbury Tales.
