Susan Mills,
Julie Hoff (Weisenberger)

for Classic Elite Yarns   1997

670 Maui

When this pattern first appeared, Hoff-Weisenberger's Tulip Cardigan became an instant icon. It remains iconic, gorgeous in all its many sizes, and can still be made out of the original, beautiful Provence cotton. But Mills's Easy Aran (for both sexes) is wonderful too. She has very thoughtfully scaled all the row repeats of the various stitch patterns to be multiples of 8, which makes it an ideal first project if you're attempting an adult Aran for the first time. First gauge is for the Camden Aran, second the Tulip Cardigan over moss st.
