In this ethereal piece, Hatton uses simple geometry to achieve a striking result. The fronts are knitted separately to a bit above the natural waist, then joined and completed as one; ties are picked up and knitted down from the edges later. This gives the glorious, generous tied effect. Sleeves are set into gently curved armholes, but they have a good cap; back neck is dipped and shoulders are sloped. The lace pattern has a chart taking up all of a page.
