Book 23 Ancash & Junin

"This hooded jacket (Ankash) uses a simple cable pattern," says Ellison, "but moving the position of when you cable, it makes the cable look more complicated than it is. When you decrease for the armholes there are a few ways to do the patterning. I told my knitter to stop doing the cable that you decrease in, and make it reverse stocking stitch, as I feel it sits better over the shoulder than half a cable." Sleeves are beautifully set in; front garter bands are worked of a piece with the fronts. The Junin fingerless mitts are just "mini-scarves," says the designer, "sewn together at the sides, leaving a hole for the thumb. The perfect mini project for those new to cables, or those who need a refresher before starting the main garment." These designs are from Mirasol Book 23.
