Tranquility Hearts Scarf

This gorgeous scarf manages to combine many elements of traditional cable knitting in a sleek, elegant way. Mercier uses twist stitches together with slipped ones (and background purls) in a combination that results in a lush, foldy, rich, soft treasure. The optional beads on the fringe add a little glint and sparkle in case the heart queue is too subtle. We read that green was the colour of true love in medieval times; how appropriate to see this motif in such a vivid, life-bringing shade, and what a way to contradict winter and despair! (The designer's last name is spelled incorrectly in the pattern. The correct spelling is Mercier.)
