The total, awesome coolness of this construction is a 9 on the Richter Knitting Scale, and Mills deserves major kudos for figuring it all out. The body is built up from a series of half-diamonds, diamonds, and triangles into which plain (thank God) raglan garter stitch sleeves are then set. Finishing consists of setting in the sleeves and doing the bottom and button bands in garter. In a variegated yarn-- well, you can see! The possibilities for Op-Art effects are endless with strong value contrasts, and with subtle ones, you're still the queen of geometry. And it's flattering!
