Nordic Mittens
"These circularly knit mittens are designed in the classic style of the two-color Selbu Mittens of 19th century Norway: ribbing, a large star motif (known in Norway as an 'eight blade rose'), pointed tips, 'seam' stitches, and different small motifs on the palm, thumb gusset, and thumb," reports Brown- Reinsel. "An added twist of many colours makes these mittens more fun to knit. Only the background colors change, while the pattern color remains the same!" As with all B-R's work, this pattern is immensely generous with charts, tips, and hints of all kinds. Originally published in the Winter 2004 issue of Interweave Knits.
