5387 Lady's Shawl Collar Cardigan
This is an absolute dream of a cardigan that any woman would want (unless you live in a Bora Bora kind of climate). It's got those long sleeves with a generous moss stitch turnback on the cuffs that make you feel dainty because of the 'boyfriend' hint of oversizeness. The sides are straight, and the raglan shaping is done one stitch in from the edges for easier seaming. The deep moss stitch welt is a welcome change of texture, as is the garter edging on the shawl collar (which is shaped by unwrapped short rows). Each border and the collar are knit separately, and then sewn on. Best of all, this piece looks fabulous in any style of chunky yarn, especially the Mistral-- it's simple and classic and always attractive. 4"/10cm of ease is recommended.
