M5047 Moss Stitch Jacket
Master designer Deborah Newton picked moss (American: seed) stitch as her very favorite in the world. It's discreet, posh, endlessly versatile, shows off any style of yarn perfectly, and doesn't curl. Here Oakeshott works it in a simple silhouette that ennobles anything you wear with it. Back neck and shoulders are shaped; sleeves have a modest cap set into high curved armholes; closure options abound. This is an intensely polished, pan-cultural look that any ambitious beginner can make (though it does help if your tension is fairly even; if you haven't yet tried square needles, they're amazingly helpful in this respect).
