A charming stocking that can be either decorative or pressed into active service. It's knitted like a real sock from the cuff down to the toe (for which Lacey suggests grafting, but if that's not going to happen, you can close it however you like-- it's felted, right?). Do be careful to choose a feltable (i.e. non-superwash) wool. Even at that, a natural white will likely work better than a bleached white; sometimes they burn off the little wool hairs to get a bright white, and you need those to felt properly. Gauge given is before felting.
