Anatolian Shawl

Gallimore says this is: "a cozy warm and generously sized shawl, knitted in the round with a steek. Lovely soft fingering weight yarn in contrasting colours (Miss Babs Yummy 2-ply Superwash in Pewter and Rainy Days - 2 skeins of each colour) are knitted in an old Anatolian motif drawn from Turkish socks. The very subtle variegation in the yarn adds extra dimension to the not quite symmetrical motif.

Revised Chart for ruffled edge uploaded November 2015.

"All but the beginning few rows and the last trim rows are knitted in the round: the steek is secured, cut, then bound with a knitted trim."

A remarkable work, absolutely timeless. If this shawl were the one remnant of our civilization, future historians would think only the best of us.
