8141 Slipovers, Hat, Scarf & Gloves
Four of these pieces are easy and dizzyingly zippy to make. The gloves, with their several little seams, are a bit more of a challenge. But since everything's knit flat, newbies can see where they're going; and since the gauge is so fat, results are very quick. The only difference between the vests (slipovers!) is the front neck treatment. The scarf is done in double seed (or Irish moss) stitch. The gloves are positively Dickensian in impact, and a very utilitarian style; perhaps in a worsted (10 ply) weight they would work for men too.
