Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton

for Universal Yarn   2013

Here, Hamilton creates a fabric and silhouette that are completely integrated into a harmonious, intriguing whole. Yes, the oval shapes are holes in the fabric formed by casting off (and later, casting back on) stitches. Simple, really. Other then the widening of the sleeves towards the shoulder, there is no shaping within the pieces; finishing is therefore easy. But the look is astonishing-- exceptionally modern, and yet reflective of a medieval tradition somehow, too.

This design is one of eight from the Poems Windfall book by Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton, published by Universal Yarns (Wisdom Yarns Book 4), available for only $16.99.
