Klahhane Ridge socks

This pattern was inspired by a gorgeous hike in Olympic National Park. Twisted stitches represent the switchbacks, different colored bobbles the flowers (as does the flower on the heel flap), and the lace panels the wide open expanse that’s the payoff at the top!

You can knit this all in one color or follow the instructions for a different colored cuff, heel flap and toe.

Pattern Notes
Directions and stitch counts refer first to the Heavy Worsted/Aran (HW) version, then to the Light Worsted (LW) version.

The heel flap can either be worked plain or with the twisted stitch pattern in the Heel Chart. Since the heel flap is worked flat, you must work twists on both the RS & WS.

Make the bobbles as you work, in the main color, or purl those stitches & later pick up a stitch in that purl stitch and make the bobble with a contrasting color.

The cuff fits slightly loosely due to the stretchiness of the lace. If you prefer a snugger cuff, use a needle one size smaller than for gauge & switch to the larger needle with the heel flap.
