Trellis Baby Blanket

This easy cable blanket was first made for my new grandnephew that lives in Tokyo. I thought it was a “manly” stitch pattern, but I think in another colour it would be just fine for a little girl too. After a few pattern repeats the pattern is easily memorized for the rest of the blanket. The edge was much easier to crochet than to pick up all those stitches in knitting, and the second colour adds some interest. I used a washable yarn that will be easy care; always important when dealing with babies. The heavier gauge yarn knits up quickly, but the pattern could very easily be knit using a finer gauge yarn and more pattern repeats.
