9147 Striped Boat Neck Sweater

This French-style classic, apparently originating from sailor-wear in Marseilles, is very a distinctive piece but at the same time easy to make. The back and front are worked exactly the same, and so (naturally) are the sleeves, so you can be on autopilot a lot. In the traditional blue and white you can imagine yourself as the star of your own foreign film, but of course the colour combination possibilities are immense. We are particularly fond of the 3/4 sleeve length, and imagine that the fishermen of the Riviera would have found it practical when hauling nets into their boats.
