Salt and Pepper Socks

"These socks are knitted with a 2-colour herringbone braid and a salt and pepper heel and toe," says publisher Beth Brown-Reinsel. "The basic sock is very easy to knit, so these different patterns add lots of interest while making and wearing the socks!" These features make them very practical, too, with a double thickness where you need it at the heel and toe to obviate holes. In addition, there are matching mittens, a hat, and a sweater coming up in the Salt and Pepper/ herringbone design theme, so get ready! From 1988.
