Spices Book 2 Cayenne Vest
This is a rich and sumptuous vest that provides a magnificent outer layer to whatever you're wearing. It is all and entirely worked in giant cable panels, with the front edges just continued up as straps to meet and be sewn down in the back. As such it's very easy to work; the cable row occurs once in every 12 rows. Sides of the piece are straight right up to the shoulders, which are themselves unshaped. The only reason we rate this vest "Intermediate" is that the Right Front is completed "to match Left Front, reversing shapings". If you can do this-- it's really fairly simple-- then the whole thing is a doddle to knit, but makes you catch your breath on sight of it. This is from the Mirasol Spices book.
