Sally Lee

for Classic Elite Yarns   1985

160 Argyle Vest

This is the most restrained we have ever seen Lee. Her incorrigible exuberance is revealed only in the high contrast of the colours and the very deep V-neck. The armholes are indented just enough that, when the ribbing around them is completed, the perimeter of the garment is a perfect rectangle. The back neck is shaped too. Otherwise sobriety rules-- which is by way of saying that this pattern has dated far less than many others of its time, and gives a long, lean look to the body. (Though you may want to cut the armholes in a bit more.)
