Sandi Rosner

for Kollage Yarns   2013

3760 Carneros

Worked in one elegant piece (up to the armholes, with back and fronts finished separately), this is a vest that falls from your shoulders like liquid (rightly so, for the yarn is half milk!) and lightly stresses your curves. The herringbone lace pattern is only 12 easy rows with a six-stitch repeat; simple. Rosner has you work the ribbed front edgings at the same time as the body fabric, and after the shoulder has you continue up on the neckbands, shaping with wrapped short rows as you go (so that the neck extensions will lie properly when sewn down to meet at the back). There's some simultaneous shaping going on, so this is not for beginners-- but it's a timeless piece that rewards the knitter who wants to look good wherever she goes.
