Ravens in Snow Fingerless Mitts

These stranded fingerless mitts are inspired by my love of Corvids, my favorite family of birds.

It’s hard to say which is my favorite Corvid -- I have very fond memories of Green Jays while visiting Bentsen-Rio Grande in Texas while working on my Zoology degree, and I love watching the crow family that feasts on our figs.

But ravens, with their simple beauty and impressive intellect, are truly special.

They are also an especially rich source of mythology, including Odin’s Hugin and Munin, Thought and Memory, of Norse mythos. They are also
prominent in the myths of the various peoples of North America.

Ravens continue to inspire people today: they can be seen on postage stamps, as the mascots of football teams, and, obviously, on knitwear.
