This is an exceptionally easy, very dramatic cardi that looks great worn with almost anything, casual or dressy. The 'frills' are just edgings picked up and increased in one row, then worked on larger needles, joined at the back neck-- that's about it. Curiously, while this is obviously a woman's jacket with ruffled edges, it's not gooey at all; the ruffle is just another strong design element. Sleeves are lightly, gently set in. We're amused by a note in the pattern: "when sts become too numerous for 2 needles use a 3rd needle". Use a circular for the ruffle if you can, even though you're knitting flat!
