The Elizabeth Cole Pullover
This is a simple, classic pullover with an easy mock cable stitch pattern. It has a slightly more formal sensibility due to the edges that integrate with the overall pattern. The stretchy nature of the stitch pattern provides a little waistline definition. The open scoop neckline is high enough to be modest and yet low enough to show a little skin, adding length to the neck. All sections are worked bottom up.
The pattern name, Elizabeth Cole, comes from Agatha Christie's novel, Curtain: Poirot's Last Case. The mystery features Hercule Poirot and Arthur Hastings in their final appearances in Christie's works. Christie wrote the novel in the early 1940s, she had the novel locked away in a bank vault for over thirty years waiting for publication.
