Lucy Neatby

443 Faroese Flower Shawl

This top-down miraculous piece is chock full of tradition as well as Lucy's modern, essential tips and hints. You can see the traditional Faroese shoulder shaping in the photograph. To our mind the rest of the lace patterning summons up those maps of Middle Earth from the Tolkien books; Lucy herself describes only a "shaped centre back flower panel". This pattern is 14 pages of lush detail, diagrams, completely charted and written out lace instructions, and every possible aid to gorgeous completion. This is its first appearance as a completely remastered digital download.

This is the most beautiful shawl and my favorite lace pattern. I have now made this 5 times and it is beautiful in all different fibers and weights. The pattern is fairly easy to memorize and just 'read' the knitting as you go. I have experimented with different edgings for my multiple shawls, and it looks great a bit longer also. Vicki
