for Red Bird Knits
This delicate design seems to evoke both gardens and music, with its little picot fence at the cuff and tiny leaves arranged as if on a musical staff. Gallimore assures us that, appearances to the contrary, the sock is very stretchy and accommodating of thick ankles. We find such practical considerations alien to the nature of this sock. When Mr. Rochester says to Jane Eyre: "... and where I stamped my hoof, there shall thy sylph's foot tread," we know she would have been wearing these-- the August 2008 Sock of the Month for Red Bird Knits. This sock is also part of a lace sock collection, available here.
