Pam Allen

for Quince & Co.

Danforth

With this magnificent garment, Allen makes the monastic sensual.

You begin at the hem, working a simple stitch pattern in the round until dividing at the armholes for front and back. After working those sides separately (with great, steep sloped shoulders), you work the shoulders together and finish the deep cowl neck in the round. No sewing. No fabric curling at the edges. No finishing to speak of, other than darning in the ends and a light blocking. And then there you are: warm, knit-satisfied, and intensely stylish.
