Vedis Jonsdottir

for Istex - Iceland   2008

28-12 Hlekkur
WEB EXCLUSIVE

There is no more illustrious designer of Icelandic sweaters in all history than Jonsdottir. Here she is at her very best: a simple, beautiful, great design that works perfectly on men or women. You work the garment in the traditional circular fashion, but steek the body so you can cut it up the front later for zipper insertion. The charts are extremely large and clear; the appearance, stunning. If steeks frighten you, then work the piece as a sweater instead, just making sure the edges of the fair isle pattern match up as closely as possible. A sweater version of this for kids aged 1 - 4, Kambur, is available here. This design is from Lopi Book 28.
