5210 Woman's/Man's Pullover, Cardigan, Long and Short Socks, and Caps
Spectacular pieces all, designed in 1992 but traditionally wrought in the round. The pullover neck is steeked; for the cardigan, you work the neck shaping back and forth after a steeked front opening. So both garment bodies are worked as tubes, with the armholes cut open after they're reinforced with machine stitching. Facings are used throughout at hem and collar and cuff. This is a grad school pattern, but if you've got the chops, an endlessly rewarding and enduring one. Note that the needle size is a guideline only. You may need a 3mm/US3 or 3.25mm needle instead to achieve it; do swatch.
