NHK8-4 Leaf and Garter Stitch Jacket
Stunning, intriguing, and seamlessly fun to make. Mills notes: "The back (square) is worked in the round beginning in the center and increasing outward as shown on chart. Change to the longer circular needle when are too many back stitches to fit comfortably on the double-pointed needles, and place markers between each of the four sections to mark the groups of stitches that were formerly on the four double-pointed needles." The collar, left, and right front triangles are worked out from the back; sleeves are worked down. A simple crochet edging is provided, so at the end the only finishing is weaving in ends and sewing on a button; a convenient hole in the edging forms the buttonhole. Gauge is given over garter stitch. From Nashua Handknits Book 8, North American Designers 3.
