Diane Soucy

for Knitting Pure and Simple

129 Top Down Lightweight Pullover

Finally, the basic roll neck pullover in a fingering weight yarn! It won’t take forever to knit either, because the gauge is loose at 24 sts to 4 inches. Knitters all over the world have used this basic as a template for their own design ideas. Shown in a buttery soft sock yarn.

Don't want the roll neck? Just work ribbing instead at a length to be a crew or turtleneck. Sizes x-small through 2-x, finished measurements 30" through 54".

(Soucy provides optional waist shaping, too, in case this sweater weren't perfect enough already-- Ed.)

Soucy offers a very detailed, illustrated knit-along guide to her top-down sweaters here.
