1490 Zippered Hoodie

Obviously this is a terrifically wearable garment, but it's terrifically knittable, too. The body is made in one piece to the shoulders, where stitches are placed on hold for eventual pickup to make the hood. So while you are working on it, the piece makes a lovely garter stitch lap blanket (save for cooler weather!). Sleeves are flat-capped, and the top of the hood is closed with a three-needle bind-off to minimize sewing. There's so little actual 'technique' to this garment that it seems difficult to add finesse; but Porter does just that by ensuring that you work the front edges in such a way that they're absolutely gorgeous, neatly finished as you go and zipper-ready.
