1487 Shirt-tail Tee

Brilliantly thought out, and yet very simple. First of all, the back and front are identical. Second, sleeves are built out from the body of the garment. Third, Porter encourages you to graft the shoulders together for an unobtrusive seam. Essentially this leaves only the side and underarm seams to sew. The 'tail' in garter-bordered st st is a witty touch, and the side vents allow for comfortable movement. Sleeve edges are self-finishing; neckline is just a st st roll, worked in the round. A terrific basic pattern that showcases any special yarn.
