5609 Wheat Stitch Top in Two Lengths
The Wheat Stitch, as you can see, is a delightful bit of openwork that results in an admirer-friendly fabric. Both tops are made in two pieces, with 'cap' sleeves that grow out of the front and back, so there's less finishing fuss. Shoulders on both are shaped to minimize and flange effect-- though the cotton's own drape takes care of that, too. Back neck is nicely dipped. Interestingly, the neckbands are worked separately for back and front necklines, then sewn down along with the shoulder seams. Really pretty, and decorously secy too. Note that the DK weight yarn is worked on larger-than-usual needles for extra airiness.
