for Nashua Handknits
NHK37-1 Riley (6 - 24 months)
Many people have a favorite baby pattern that they knit over and over for gifts. This is a new one of those-- ingenious, very attractive, and fun to work. Mills: "The body is worked from side-to-side in two halves. Each half begins with a scalloped center front edge, then continues in Garter Stitch to the end of the neck shaping. The back is worked in Garter Stitch from center back until it measures the same length as the front, then the back and front are joined for working in one piece to the start of the sleeve where lower body stitches are cast off at each side, and then the sleeve continues in Garter Stitch to the cuff edge." So cool, and a great vehicle for many different worsted weight (or 10 ply) yarns. From Nashua Handknits Book 37, Sprout.
