Purl Arrows Hat

When the right simple elements are combined, they seem to make a harmonious and inevitable whole. That is exactly the case here. Easily made in the round with 100 grams of plain worsted weight wool-- the pattern's instructions are virtually round by round, and yet it's comparatively short. This is a splendid hat composed of a brocade use of purl stitches, which any amateur knitter can do; and yet is seems worthy of a museum. This, ladies and gentlemen, is one of those things that defines a real designer.
