Deborah Newton

for Nashua Handknits

NHK50-2 Cable Edge Cardi

It's made in a cotton/linen blend, so it's cool and practical and long-wearing. But Newton has taken this yarn and wrought something that's a feast for the senses and terribly sexy. Has every smart bit of tailoring the clever knitter wants: dipped back neck, sloped shoulders, and a shaped waist. Set-in sleeves have a high proud cap. Back and fronts are worked up separately from the one long cabled border (knit first). Two sleeve options: slit like in the photo on the data page to give the fingerless mitt effect, or regular (about 4" shorter than shown). Original Nashua yarn is migrated to Rowan, but it's the same yarn. From Nashua Handknits Book 50, Celebration.
