IN-67 Tea Roses
Tomany was taught by Debbie New herself "how to knit the cups & saucers and I went ahead and designed these four in slightly heavier yarn," explains Tomany of her Cup Quartet (this is the fourth posted). "Cups & saucers are 'free-standing' without starch. They are 'lined' so that patterning on the outside is not visible on the inside." Each of the four sets sports a different knitting feature: this one uses duplicate stitch (Swiss darning) to make the rose motifs. The only sewing is tacking down the end of the cup handle; it hardly counts.
