NHK49-2 Larkspur Cabled Jacket

Here is a deliciously sexy but very proper jacket. As the notes say, it's worked at a looser tension than usual for the yarn (Isabella typically knitted at 4 stitches to 1"/2.5cm) for extra drape. The waist is shaped, and sleeves beautifully set in. The cable borders are worked in a piece with the fronts up to the shoulder; then cable stitches are put on hold and neck extensions worked after the pieces are sewn together, and joined at the back neck. The Rowan Summer Tweed should work as a substitute yarn, but be sure to check needle size and get gauge.

This design is from Nashua Handknits Book 49, Isabella.
