Spice Trade Shawl

Half-pi shawls are addictive (you've been warned!), and after two flew off my needles I just had to make one more. These stitch patterns had been rolling around in the back of my mind for awhile, and they compliment each other so nicely they deserved a shawl of their own. The combination of patterns, and the feel and color of the yarn, reminded me of the sensual pleasures of a spice market - and so the Spice Trade Shawl was born!

This shawl is knit top-down, with lace patterns that are simple to follow (and presented in both written and charted form). The half-circle shape sits beautifully on the shoulders, and also wraps nicely for styling like a scarf.

Gauge is not critical for this project, and larger sizes can easily be achieved by using a heavier-weight yarn in place of laceweight.
