9544 Waistcoat

A splendid British interpretation of the wildly popular 'circular' vest style: British in that it is knit in pieces, not in the round. You do begin with the upper back in double moss stitch (USA: double seed); then you pick up along its lower edge, as in the schematic, and knit the border down. Left and right sides are worked separately and shaped with extra yfwd's, not short rows (yay!). It's a glorious garment, extravagantly feminine, but in a restrained kind of way. Gauge given over double moss stitch.
