Orchid Shawl

Orchids are beautiful and delicate flowers. This lace stitch has often been referred to as a waterlily but when I look at it I see an orchid.

Orchid shawl is a triangular shawl pattern knitted from the neck down with increases at the borders and in the center. It is adjustable in size by choosing how many times you repeat the Orchid chart and the Bud chart. The pattern includes instructions for adding beads to give your shawl that extra sparkle.

The black shawl is knitted in lace weight yarn on 2.5mm (US 1½) needles. Orchid chart is repeated seven times and Bud chart three times. This uses 55 grams/550 meters (600 yards) of Jaggerspun Zephyr Wool-Silk 2/18 and 350 beads.

The pink shawl is knitted in light fingering yarn on 3mm (US 2½) needles. Orchid chart is repeated five times and Bud chart two times. This uses 65 grams/320 meters (350 yards) of BC Garn Baby Alpaca 10/2, no beads were added.
