NM1-2 Velvet Wool Cardi

This just knocks us out flat. It's a very simple silhouette (albeit with sloped shoulders and a dipped back neck) featuring set-in sleeves, seed (UK: moss) stitch bands, and pockets. But the applied I-cord! The fronds! So simple (not even 4-stitch I-cord, 3-stitch I-cord), and yet it turns the piece into something approaching art. The Velvet Wool is no longer around, but it worked up to a perfect Aran tension at (mostly) 18 sts to 4"/10cm on a US8/5mm needle. So find a gorgeous substitute, and knit something that makes people gasp. From Nashua Magazine 1.
