for Black Water Abbey Yarns 2012
Abbey In Winter
Abbey in Winter is reminiscent of an Eastern European shawl. The garment features snowflake motifs created specifically for this design, slight waist shaping, faux side seams, knitted-on edging and overlapping fronts. The body is knitted in one piece, bottom up, using a provisional crochet cast on.
For our sample we used "Dark Welsh" fingering weight for the body, and "Lt Grey" fingering weight for the trim.
Our fingering weight yarn has a generous bloom, so we were most happy with the results when we washed the yarn before knitting.Gauge reflects swatch being washed and allowed to dry without blocking before measuring.
