8959 Sweater
WEB EXCLUSIVE

A great top with the round-yoke look (based on a raglan-sleeve platform), but in a lighter weight of yarn than usual for this style. The back and front and sleeves are made separately, back and front alike. You then join all the pieces into one, and work the yoke all in one piece (albeit back and forth; the seam will be at the back left sleeve) with regular decreases up to the neck, then you cast off. Pick up stitches along those cast-off stitches, work with turtleneck collar on two successive sizes of needles (for a properly-gauged turnback, then cast those off. Sew pieces together, and you're done. A similar style in a chunky-weight yarn is Sirdar 8986.
