777-C MacAuslan Cardigan
WEB EXCLUSIVE

Penny Straker: “This yoke pattern was found in the old office of MacAuslan Shetland Mills in Scotland decades ago. Mr. MacAuslan personally gave this yoke pattern to me in the early 1960’s soon after I opened my first yarn shop. The heathery and exquisite colors of MacAuslan Shetland yarn filled an entire section of a shelf! I designed the MacAuslan Cardigan and Pullover using this ancient yoke design. History tells us that many of these Fair Isle patterns may have originated in Spain and were brought to the British Isles centuries ago.

“While selecting colors for these yokes, have light, medium and dark shades to help show the intricacies within the design. Soft and muted colors, or powerful and bright, the main color will help determine which colorways are to your liking. Take time and choose thoughtfully, testing each color against the next to create a palette that works for you and your main color choice.”
There's a beautiful Henley-necked version, the MacAuslan Pullover, available here-- Ed.)
