Hamilton's aesthetic is a delightful combination of feminine and architectural, and with this piece she addresses both-- and adds a dash of Japanese theatre to boot. This is one of those glorious designs that demands texture in a yarn, but above all, colour; since Wooly Stripes is no longer around, you get to experiment on your own. Handily made in sections (the front and back panels and sides are st st; the main ones cascading down from the shoulders are mitred garter stitch) and then sewn together. This is from Nashua Handknits Book 25, Designer Knits 5.
