So often, what makes a design both chic and easy is in the small details. These are each simple to make, and they show off special yarns wonderfully well. The pullover has a rolled hem before launching into the deep garter welt; sleeves are well set in. The cardi has a tiny rib before launching into a rev st st welt; sleeves are so raglan-y they almost come to a point (to join a tiny actual shoulder from the fronts and back). All sleeve decreases are worked well in from the edge and fully-fashioned. You simply embroider over the rev st st/stst boundary for embellishment. Yarn for garment on left was 96% wool, 4% nylon, 54yds/50m to 50g-- and it was a bit fuzzy. Yarn for cardi was 50% wool, 50% acrylic, braided construction, 57yds/52m to 50g, gauge in st st as shown second below.
