In which Payson offers a colour study in a fabulously easy silhouette. It's a belled 'skirt', A-line, with modified drop shoulders (i.e., armholes are indented once, sleeve tops are flat). It's a wonderful basic, and essential for the texture contrasts we now always want for fall. The yarn specified was a standard-weight mohair normally knitting to 16 sts to 4"/10cm; whichever substitute you choose, you may have to go up to a larger needle size to get this slightly looser gauge than normal.
